OUR STORY

Georgia Speaks, Inc. focuses on physical health, behavioral health and pro-social development for children and adolescents ranging from 7-21 years of age. We have built partnerships with community organizations with similar goals that can help us connect youth to resources. Additionally, we strive to educate the youth in our community, so that they may fair better in social environments by facilitating free workshops on important topics such as Nutrition and Health, Bullying, Substance Abuse Education, Anger Management and many other forms of Educational and Vocational support.

The Community is impacted by the services our program offers according to the needs of the Department of Juvenile Justice and the Department of Children and Family Services. Both agencies serve children in need of assessment and services to help decrease the rate of recidivism in Psychiatric Residential Facilities or other intensive treatment facilities. Our goal is to support youth in their communities, alongside their families. Georgia Speaks, Inc. proposes to aid youth in becoming successful despite evidence of disadvantage. Our services will benefit a target population that may suffer from behavioral health issues and other issues to include involvement with the Juvenile Justice system and homelessness. Our services will also benefit the Board of Education, as services provided will help to assist and restructure the behavior of children placed in Special Education due to behavioral problems. We will also serve as a preventive measure to educate youth before they are considered a behavioral risk to the community.

The organization is comprised of key personnel that have a wealth of experience in the areas of child advocacy and behavioral health. All aspects of the business have been sufficiently analyzed to determine each and every position required to run a fully functioning operation that can complete all of the strategies and programs to be undertaken. Our Community Support Services consist of rehabilitative environmental support and resource coordination, which is essential to assisting youth and families in gaining access to necessary services. We create environments that promote resiliency; emotional support; functional growth and development of our youth.

Through partnership and collaboration with community organizations, federal, state and local
grants, and the philanthropic efforts of Georgia’s constituents Georgia Speaks, Inc. will remain committed to promoting positive social and behavioral interactions for children and young adults. Our team is dedicated to working with families in crisis, intervening with resources that help to keep the children in the home and strengthen the family unit.
